Matthew Ryals

 

Matthew Ryals is a professional classical guitar performer and teacher studying with world-renowned artist Jason Vieaux and earning his Masters of Music Degree at Cleveland Institute of Music. Matthew performs solo recitals, and has worked alongside cellists, flutists, vocalists, percussionists, and other instrumentalists. He thoroughly enjoys performing new works and participating in “noise” improvisation sessions with friends. He has collaborated with visual artists, performed in the theatre, and provides music for art galleries, weddings, parties, community organizations, schools, assisted living facilities, art galleries, coffee houses, and restaurants. Matthew has a private teaching studio in Cleveland where he enjoys teaching electric guitar, acoustic guitar, classical guitar, and music theory to all ages. Matthew has received numerous scholarships and honors, including being the first guitarist to be a four-time Arkansas State University Honors Recital participant and award winner. He has performed in masterclasses with world-renowned artists Marcin Dylla, Ana Vidovic, Stanley Yates, Jason Vieaux, David Burgess, Mir Ali, David Starobin, Anders Miolin, and Thomas Viloteau.
