
A classical guitarist, teacher, and lecturer, Cleveland Classical Guitar Society president Erik Mann is professor of Guitar Literature and Guitar Pedagogy, as well as guitar instructor for the preparatory department, at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He also heads the guitar department at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Erik received his bachelor’s degree from Towson University and his master’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music. He has studied extensively with Jason Vieaux, John Holmquist, and Ronald Pearl. In master classes and lessons he has studied with many of the world’s top guitarists and lutenists, including: David Russell, the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, The Brazilian Guitar Quartet, The Assads, Paul O’Dette, Nigel North, and many others. Recent performances include appearances with the Cleveland Orchestra and Glimmerglass Opera, concertos with the Erie Philharmonic and the Erie Chamber Orchestra, and regular concerts with the Edinboro University Chamber Players and cellist Jacqueline Black.
